I am almost afraid to ask, but ask I must. What is the law in Toronto on keeping animals (chickens, pigeons, pigs and the usual cats and dogs) and/or hanging clothes on an outdoor clothesline in one's backyard?
No, no not me. One of my neighbours think he is still living in the "old country".Had to read this twice. I thought you were hanging animals on your clothesline.
Interesting. No wonder there is so much fucking poop in this city.Cats/dogs/Pigeons legal
Hanging clothes on a backyard clothesline is legal.
I had to read it three times.Had to read this twice. I thought you were hanging animals on your clothesline.
I was a Cruelty Agent for the SPCA years ago. I had a case much like this. It's illegal. Please call them. No, no not me. One of my neighbours think he is still living in the "old country".
Very delicate situation. He's a very nice guy (even offered to "dispose" of that raccoon in my garage) but he thinks he lives on a farm or back in the "old country".I was a Cruelty Agent for the SPCA years ago. I had a case much like this. It's illegal. Please call them.
Is there a legal limit on how many animals one household can own? I heard that dogs and cats are legal but is there no legal restriction on quantity per household?I was a Cruelty Agent for the SPCA years ago.
Can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to have a pet chicken. So long as they are properly cared for.Cats/dogs/Pigeons legal
Chicken, Pigs are not
Hanging clothes on a backyard clothesline is legal.
It is against the law that's why, and I hope it stays that way. Can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to have a pet chicken. So long as they are properly cared for.
Trying to use them as a source of food might run you afoul of something.
Not quite, you cannot put chicken manure directly into the garden, it is what is known as a "hot" manure and must be aged first. And because of the way chickens defecate, the manure is mixed with urine which creates a VERY STRONG ODOUR until it is composted.Their poop will compost very well into your garden, and in the fall you can have a nice roasted chicken.
I remember during the bird flu epidemic most of the people who died were kiving "cheek by jowl" with chicken.you cannot put chicken manure directly into the garden
I wonder if he had the egg first, or the chicken?Trying to use them as a source of food might run you afoul of something.
