You must be kidding.
Really why would you say that? Are there not songs, places that have such an emotional memory for you.

I hear this song, amazing grace, ava maria, I think of my deceased parents.

Sarah Brightman is something special so is Charlotte Church.

Clarification: You must be kidding when you say that "Andrea will go down in history as the best singing voice IMO"

He has a very pleasing voice, but is essentially an extremely talented amateur.

LMAO, one of the richest amateurs I've ever seen.

I'll clarify, he has the most versatile voice I've ever heard, can sing opera, musicals, contemporary, pop, etc..., as the most pleasing voice to the ears of anyone I know. Others may have stronger voices but they usually are restricted to a range. You're entitled to your opinion, but it's mine and obviously millions of others around the world.

What do you think of Bill Gates' singing voice?

PS: I was judging Andrea as an opera singer, and in that department he is not high on the list.

Bill Gates does not make his living from singing, what do you think of Andrea's software development skills? IMO, your analogy makes no sense, compare apples to apples. I agree Andrea is not the best as an opera singer, I should have made that point yesterday that he has the most versatile voice, but I clarified that today. Overall, he can sing in any gendre and has the most pleasing voice in any gendre than any singer I know or have known.

ps. fixed my English, sorry, must have been all that orange juice I drank this morning.

Listen, I don't disagree that he is has a great voice, I said so in the first post. He is just not regarded as a great opera singer. And his wealth does not really have any bearing on his voice. Peace.

He once took a role in an opera production in Chicago, and the professional reviewer's said about him: "a talented amateur". That is where I got the term from. And I would do Sarah any day.

Sorry for being a pedant...
Amateurs do it for love, that's the definition. A rich amateur would have made his money another way.

I stated that tongue and cheek, trying to make a point Andrea is no amateur when it comes to singing as claimed by others, obviously it didn't work.

Bocelli's is a high end entertainer and a very pleasing one at that.

At best, he is a step below Domingo, Pavarotti, Caruso and other great voices of Operatic Art. At worst, he is a dignified, high end entertainer that pleases a more-than-average discerning public.

Bocelli is POPera but not Opera.

I do thank him for making more people aware of a higher art form, although the messenger is not of the level of the message.

Speaking of bringing his music to the masses...

In all seriousness I think it's wonderful that his music is so accessible to so many, the fact that it's so popular is a credit to him. It doesn't matter to me whether or not his voice is a pure operatic one or not, so many people enjoy him and so many more will listen to opera because they have been introduced to the music through him and others like him which keeps it alive.

Have to agree. Andrea was nice but bland.

Paul Potts does that tune better and puts a bit more fire and passion in it:
