Good outcome and excellent work by the horsemen!
But police work in the remote Onion Creek Cree First Nation community is not "typical" police work by any stretch.
These RCMP constables who are assigned to, live in, and are on call 24/7 in remote aboriginal communities have perhaps one of the most unique police jobs in the world.
Not sure how it is these days, but it used to be that rookie constables got "Rez" duty as their first assignment. I actually think it was a good idea because it helped them understand how to empathize and relate to the community that they were serving and protecting.

Kudos to police. Some/many people are too quick to blame police for the ills of society.

Society, prefers not to see the uglier sides. And what they do see, is what they are fed. In the news and on social media.
They don’t see what they deal with day in and day out. Don’t see them breaking down and crying at the mangled bodies in wrecks, don’t see them going into domestics, and more.
Usually just the stuff gone wrong. When decision are made in 0.25 seconds.
