Amy Winehouse takes her 12-year-old god-daughter clubbing
By 3am 16/08/2008
Boozing, brawling and falling over is no way for your "fairy" godmother to behave - but clearly no one's told Amy Winehouse.
The badly beehived one went on the rampage in London's Camden Town last night - dragging her 12-year-old god-daughter, Dionne Bromfield, along with her.
The Kent schoolgirl was left to look on helplessly as Auntie Amy scrapped with fans, chucked pint glasses at people and collapsed in a heap on the floor. How dignified!
The "fun" began at midnight and, when most girls her age are tucked up in bed, Dionne was being led by the hand into Dingwalls nightclub, a few minutes walk from Amy's Camden home.
The singer was determined to support a fundraising event for her old local the Hawley Arms, which was gutted by fire in February.
But once over the threshold Amy, 24, seemed to forget about her young charge, and headed straight for the bar to start necking shots. Then when nature called she staggered to the loos but missed the handrail and fell to the floor.
Dionne had to pull the wasted Rehab singer to her feet. Oh dear.
An onlooker tells us: "Amy was in a right state, slurring her words and falling all over the place.
"It was sad to see a young girl being left to babysit her - it should be the other way around."
But then Dionne is used to the chaos that follows Amy. There is carnage whenever her godmum picks her up from school.
There is no doubt the two are close. Amy posted a clip of Dionne belting out a noteperfect Alicia Keys number on YouTube and is to sponsor her at singing camp in America.
Even so, at half Amy's age she is hardly a suitable clubbing buddy.
As the evening wore on, Amy barged into the DJ box, shoving people out of her way, and rowed with the DJ for not letting her on the decks. One fan got too close and she rained blows on his chest.
She was bundled outside and threw a glass at a photographer.
Stick to staying in doing your homework, Dionne, it's far safer...
Yesterday, a Dingwalls spokesman refused to comment on 12-year-old Dionne spending the night in the club.
