Americans have been masquerading themselves as Canadians when travelling in Europe for years... since the 60's at least, so this is no surprise to me. I would have thought that someone would have done this much earlier.

I back packed Euprope years ago and met many amazing people from all over (USA included) Many of them(Americans) did however sew Canadian flags on their back packs just to avoid confrontations with angry people in foreign lands. They never tried to hide the fact that they knew if people thought they were Canadian they'd be treated better. They would even quiz me on where they should tell people they are from and what the sports teams names are and such. Seemed like alot of work to avoid potential harrassment but hey
