Christian Bale was amazing as Patrick Bateman.

As one who read the book in the early 90's I waited for years with anticipation before a movie was released. I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was with it. They turned it into a black comedy. Christian Bale would have been fine as Patrick Bateman had they not written his character all wrong. Reese Witherspoon as Courtney was a total miscast.

Book: 9/10

Movie: 6/10

Yes she played his girlfriend Evelyn my bad. Still a miscast if you ask me. I didn't think the intention of Brett Easton Ellis was primarily a black comedy novel, that was secondary if you ask me. All I know is that in the movie the chainsaw scene was absolutely ridiculous.

Well, I have yet to see a movie be as good as the book. Just look at stephen king movies, the only one that was as good as the book was "trucks". Most of them were good movies but as good as the books? Nope.

The movie is awesome as it stands having not read the book.
