Interesting piece in the Star today about Amanda Lindhout, the woman who was kidnapped in Somalia:

It may sound harsh, but I get the sense Amanda is a little bit nutty.

She looks in remarkably good shape for having been held captive for 15 months with very little food / water...

Also, there was a media report recently that internet rumours circulating at the time of her captivity, detailing a possible pregnancy were unfounded. Most likely, it can be chalked up to propaganda on the part of the terrorists.

So she comes home to Canada tonight on a Government Challenger jet at our expense. Sorry, but wtf. She goes to these shit places, no sane person would go, gets kidnapped, and we have to pay for it. I am sorry, no sympathy from an unemployed born Canadian. They should have shot her. Sorry, I sound like and asshole.
