Wish I could go, but the wife's gone this weekend and I'm at home with the Bairn.

To be honest, I haven't even had a chance to see anything on Speed about them this season except for the Dale Jr. incident.

Where's $500,000 so I can take 3 months off work and entera race...lol

Never the safest place
The race will be shown on CBS on Sunday, not SPEED.

I've been to Mosport before, but I can't get there either this weekend. Mosport is a little difficult to get to, if you don't have a vehicle available to you. It's not exactly on a GO bus route.

Since the IRL is going road racing in 2005, how about an IRL and Grand Am weekend at Downsview Airport next year? Bombardier already sponsors the IRL. I'd go.

Update:

#16 Dyson/Lola on top at 1:08.13 (about 1 second off the ultimate Mosport lap record)

#38 Champion/Audi next at 1:08.61 followed by the #20 Dyson/Lola at 1:08:69.

In GTS, the #4 Corvette wasa about 2 seconds under the existing lap record at 1:14.29 followed by the # 3 Vette at 1:15.10 and the Saleen at 1:15.35

Fabulous day!

this is getting to be an awesome series, why with Eccelstone nicely destroying F1, CART and IRL being a joke and well NASCAR dont get me started, (uhum left turn, left turn, oh look another left turn) ALMS keeps things interesting by staying close to the fans (try getting a pass into the paddock of F1, hmmm got about 5 grand to spare) and having a realy interesting series.

As it turns out, the drivers LOVE talking to the fans...at least at ALMS events. I've never spoken with a driver who wasn't at the very least gracious, at best very enthusiastic about talking with the fans.

Ron Fellows being the premier among the very best with the fans.

No Hawaian Tropic Girls this year. But fear not, the sponsorship has changed and yesterday we got the lovely Pirelli Girls. :)

Great day for a race yesterday. In the P1 Dyson looked sharp all day while Audi really only challenge when Lehto was driving...too bad they gambled with a double stint on the tires.

The Corvettes really dominate GTS and are so evenly matched. Fellows set up O'Connel nicely for a run at the end but Johnny couldn't pull off as time wound down and the wrong Corvette won. The guys in the 4 car are definitely fast but Fellows and O'Connell seem to be much more consistent. I thought it was strange that O'Connell did the first and third segments and not Fellows. Maybe Ron was too busy doing the PR stuff at his home race.

First trip to the ALMS and plan to be back every year.

I believe that they gave Ron the middle stint so he would be in better shape to drive the second Speed GT race later in the day.

Thought that might be the case Meesh.

Any word on what happened to Lieb in the 24 car? I caught the highlights of his off-track activities down into 2 and it was a pretty big shunt. They showed him being put on the stretcher with neck supports and being frown to hospital for neck x-rays.
