Many towns across The Netherlands have a red light district. The one in Alkmaar is rated quite highly by the local audience. Alkmaar is a city about 45 minutes by train to the north of Amsterdam. It is small, quaint and otherwise indistinguishable from other Dutch towns.
The RLD is situated on a street call Achterdam. It is a 15 minute walk SE of the train station, and just east of the market square. On a fine summer's day, this makes it a great location.
The RLD itself has the usual windows, but it also has indoor sections. So look for the entrance ways to turn into and don't miss out! Overall it is small however - maybe 125 windows in all with maybe half to two thirds occupied.
The girls there vary in their services. Some just want the money and for you to leave as quickly as possible. Others from what I've heard are better. Costs are 35 euro for the standard fuck and suck. Not too many hotties but I was there on a Monday afternoon.
