It is called creative marketing. You create a fake media scandal to stir up interest in your movie. As successfully peformed by Michael Moore,Mel Gibson and the Blair Witch project.

I had to LOL at this part of the article,

As opposed to totally fact-based Oliver Stone films such as "JFK" and "The Doors."

JFK most certainly was not "fact based."

It is well known that Alexander was bi, if not exclusively gay. Male-male sex was considered normal in his ciluture.

This suit is completely laughable. It as ridiculous as Italians being upset, when told that Europeans had visited North America hundreds of years before Columbus.
