Innocent until proven guilty? Yeah right ok, maybe that's the way its supposed to work but in the US, they arrest you first then make you prove you are innocent, not the other way around.
Just this morning on CBS news there was a report on 3 youths who were charged with battery on a chinese woman. Apparantly the chinese woman had her purse snatched and 1 of the youths went after him while the other two tried to help the lady. 1 (I repeat ONE) witness said the 3 boys caused the problem and the police couldn't confirm this with the woman because she didn't speak english.
Well after a month (or so) and a bail hearing etc they finally got around to interveiwing the chinese woman with an interpretor and discovered the boys were telling the truth. Recourse? NONE.
I know LE has it rough but they really ought to take the old "innocent until proven guilty" a little more seriously.
