I've been hearing their ads on CHFI lately...I recall getting this ad back in 2007-08...I have relatives encouraging me to move and says it's good there but i highly doubt it. Been there a couple of times but looking at it...I can be mortgage free if I move there...i just don't think the atmosphere is the same living there compare to Durham Region....

Alberta is beautiful. It depends what your interests are. If you like living an active lifestyle then you are surrounded with beautiful parks and you're not far from Banff.

People are very warm. In fact, they are generally not big fans of Toronto as they find it too fast-paced and people to not be very friendly.

Women in Calgary are great too. There are a number of incredible women I have met from there. I'd give it serious consideration if there was nothing anchoring me to Toronto.

In my case, I can't move anywhere because of business interests.

Lived in Calgary for over 3 years on a work assignment 3 lifetimes ago. I found it a great place to go see the Canadian west and the great northern and western American states. 3 lifetimes ago Seattle, Portland, L.A., San Fran, etc. were great American cities. To-day you couldn't pay me enough to visit them.

I know nothing about Calgary. What area/ neighborhood is recommended for someone looking to move there from GTA ? Quick search I noticed that salaries for comparable jobs are a little less, is this just relative to a lower cost of living there?

At a SP near me
The most important question not being asked is what is the pooning situation like there.

I’ve seen a couple of SPs who have come to Toronto from the west and they were very service oriented and chilled. Do they all tend to be like that? Are there MP and agencies there with the same selection of ladies like we have here in the GTA? Asking for a friend 😜

The problem with leaving the GTA if you sell your property is once you’re out, you can never get back in because the price of real estate will outpace the smaller cities anywhere in Canada.
Fortunately, I was on a work assignment so I kept the Toronto house (actually a condo at that time) knowing that I would come back some day.

When I was out there I actually enjoyed visiting the Northern and Western American states and various places in the Canadian prairies (the land is so flat). Met a lot of Ukes out there. Warning: Don't play hockey against them.

Woman, what kind of Canadian are you? Do the Winter stuff. Hockey, skating, skiing, etc.
As I hide my head……

Nope.

I’ll even go further and say I hate hockey……

……runs…..

I hear their ads frequently on the radio. Touting Edmonton. A co worker is thinking about moving there for the cheap house prices. Trade off is the winters. Calgary has chinooks and scenery. Edmonton not so much.
Women in Alberta were absolutely beautiful. I remember Calgary as being friendly. Depends what you are doing for work. Too much of a blast from the past for me. Couldn't go back.
