A woman and her husband in Calgary, Alberta who thought they’d make a few extra bucks renting out their home for the weekend via Airbnb were shocked when they returned to it on Monday to find the smell of pot streaming from the windows, chicken thighs in their shoes, and estimates of $75,000 in damages.
Just hours after they forked over the keys to the renters, a party bus rolled up to the door and over 100 people streamed into the home.
Star and her husband Mark found cigarettes butted out on furniture, food and garbage strewn throughout the premises, condoms plugging the toilet, and ketchup and mayonnaise smeared across the walls and paintings. Broken glass competed with discarded panties and bras for floor space. Alcohol, vomit, and semen were found throughout the premises.
When the Kings arrived at the house, the police were already there responding to a call about a fight that had broken out in their front yard. The Kings, however, initially weren’t permitted into the house, since the renter’s privacy was protected under Alberta’s Residential Tenancies Act.
