Air Traffic Controllers got their hands full this evening?

The fifth low flying jumbo aircraft has just passed over my house within 15 minutes. Normally air traffic approaches the airport about 7-10km north of my house. Rarely, as in once or twice a year, do they approach from my area. The approach has obviously been rerouted -- diverted south of the usual path for some reason. Weird. I will watch the news for some incident tonight or tomorrow.

Could be any number of reasons: weather and visibility, use of different runways, volume of air traffic, military exercises, etc.

Those all sound like common scenarios. But it never happened like this before. It must be some extraordinary heavy volume. Otherwise this would happen more often. Something unusual is going on. Perhaps a nearby airport has been shut down.

I'm listening to LIVEATC, but not picking up anything too critical -- just unusual. Pilots are requesting additional lighting on seldom used runways, controllers are asking pilots to use additional signal lighting on their crafts in advance of their final approach. Runway options are not at the discretion of pilots, as is usually the case at this hour.

Something's up.

Its your fault you bought a house in the low rent district that is in the flight path of all incoming aircrat to the GTA.

there is a phenomenon of Africans sneaking into the landing gear of US-bound flights

often, they are crushed or frozen to death, in-flight

then, when the plane is landing and opens its gear ... body parts fall out ... on to the lawns, roofs, pools, etc. of residents near the airport

That was my point. I'm not in the low rent district. The low rent district is 7-10km north of here. The planes were approaching from the WRONG way. My suspicions were correct. They were diverted temporarily.
