they always produce water. i have a window AC and there is water on the window ledge thing so i have to find something to put under it so the water can be drained outside instead of coming inside on the window.

If you tilt the AC unit forward slightly, the condensation will drain out instead of coming in.

Tilting it forward does make sense, but tilting it the opposite way is much better.
Most window air conditioner have drain plug, though most people don't take it out before the install it. Once you do that and put it on an angle (not level) the water will drain out the hole. The manufacture put in place for that reason.

As several have said tilt the ac towards the outside.
Or attach an air tube to the condenser pan and then it will drain wherever you put the tube end (e.g. bucket, out the window, sink, etc.)
Some window ac's are designed to do this when you situate the ac and some dumbasses think that there is something wrong with it and return it to the store only to learn that they are indeed a dumbass.

I get around.
I agree that air conditioners can be annoying but for completely difference reasons.
Toronto pet peeve: we put up with 7 - 8 months of cold weather and then as soon as summer rolls around some people crank up the AC and set the temp to 20C (68F) - which would be cold enough to draw complaints in the winter. And it makes the differential more pronounced when you do go outside into 28C (80F) + heat.

I really enjoy the hot weather, the shorts and t-shirt, move slower than usual, make sure to drink lots of water, sunny days.
Also there's usually only around 3 or 4 days in the summer when it's actually so hot out that AC is really needed. Bring on the heat!

You are my sorta guy! My neighbours' Ac rumbles constantly when it's 18º outside, and I've taken to wearing winter clothes whenever I have to shop or spend time in offices, theatres or restaurants.
