they always produce water. i have a window AC and there is water on the window ledge thing so i have to find something to put under it so the water can be drained outside instead of coming inside on the window.

Tilting it forward does make sense, but tilting it the opposite way is much better. If you tilt the AC unit forward slightly, the condensation will drain out instead of coming in.
You are my sorta guy! My neighbours' Ac rumbles constantly when it's 18º outside, and I've taken to wearing winter clothes whenever I have to shop or spend time in offices, theatres or restaurants.I agree that air conditioners can be annoying but for completely difference reasons.
Toronto pet peeve: we put up with 7 - 8 months of cold weather and then as soon as summer rolls around some people crank up the AC and set the temp to 20C (68F) - which would be cold enough to draw complaints in the winter. And it makes the differential more pronounced when you do go outside into 28C (80F) + heat.
I really enjoy the hot weather, the shorts and t-shirt, move slower than usual, make sure to drink lots of water, sunny days.
Also there's usually only around 3 or 4 days in the summer when it's actually so hot out that AC is really needed. Bring on the heat!
