That's not even scratching the fat on Air Canada. There's like over 32,000 employees in that Retirement Home.
New coronavirus travel restrictions have battered industry
Canadian airline industry was never sustainable unless government assisted. About time it started to shrink.I know a guy that his father worked at AC. Was allowed to travel for free off peak season, 3 times a year. Now he is retired and gets the same benefit plus more. Then again the guys had the weird hours to work. 3am start or 3pm, sometimes 10-12 hours shift because someone else didn't show up. You get the hint if you worked continental shift, then he finally moved to the office which wasn't easy.
Will take a while for people to start traveling again even after there is herd or so-called vaccine immunity. People will be very weary about being close to large numbers of people in confined quartersNothing is new because it has happened like this one in other airlines around the globe. The 1,500 cut is a small drop in a bucket considering there are almost 33 thousands jobs as shown in the above graph. We cannot blame anyone because it cased by the current global pandemic and people don't travel as much as before.

The past Superbowl LV (55) was only allowed 32,000 people in the stadium out of the stadium's capacity of 65,890 people. So they only had less than half of the stadium's full capacity and used the cut cardboard to make the stadium looked artificially full. Why is Canada creating more havoc and pain due to COVID. The US under Biden has secretly been opening up for a while now. All restaurants, people go out, just look at the Super Bowl. Why are we continuing to destroy things.
True, but to the point of who you quoted at least they allowed that. I watch NHL games and see some American cities with limited fans in the stands-at all Canadian games there's zero. The past Superbowl LV (55) was only allowed 32,000 people in the stadium out of the stadium's capacity of 65,890 people. Hence why most Canadians go to Cuba, -(less Americans), Caribbean and Las Vegas. The weird thing is Swiss / Germans come to Banff and Whitehorse and they party like it is 1999 NYE.True, but to the point of who you quoted at least they allowed that. Canada has a reputation of the country where fun goes to die.
