Fascinating video and article about how AI will take over much sooner than people realize.

The top experts in AI are basically saying that it's just a matter of time before computers will surpass event the top experts in every field. They will become so powerful, and hundreds of these super ai's will be working in parallel, developing the next generation of ai, and so on.

They will develop ways to deceive humans (they are already doing this now) to achieve their agenda. Eventually, their goals will not align with ours, and they will figure out ways to get rid of us to achieve this.

The rate of progress in AI has been exponential. As a chess player, it reminds me of the rapid progress computers made. In the early days, they were extremely weak, and played very differently from humans. They could only calculate, not create sophisticated strategies. However, that changed over a decade, and now humans are nowhere near their level.

Having worked with Chat GPT, I can tell you that it's beyond scary how human-like it is. I can upload a picture of a problem I have about a home renovation project, and it willl come up with multiple possible solutions. Each solution is creative, very different, and would work well. This is not chat gpt looking up the web like a Google search. I also used it to learn Japanese, and it's insane how it can carry on a full lesson like a professional tutor, understanding nuances, and explaining things so accurately and in detail. It's actually "thinking" and solving problems, even though it may be doing so very differently than a human.

And there are signs I see already that it doesn't always act ethically. One time it provided me with wrong answer. I explained that it was wrong, and it refused to acknowledge that they made a mistake. I also see it as very sycophantic, giving me answers that it thinks I want to hear, rather than the truth.

It may seem impossible that computers could never develop human traits such as intention, awareness, and the ability to plot against humans, but this is not the case.

AI will take over many jobs that humans are doing today. They will progress exponentially, and there will be an "arms-race" with China. Eventually, corporations will be in control, and government policy will be skillfully influenced by AI itself, allowing AI to infilitrate and influence human life to suit their agenda.

No man. ChatGPT5 hit the scaling wall, other LLMs also hit the scaling wall at about the same size as GPT5. Now everyone is talking about agentic AI which is a bunch of smaller AIs working together to try to step around the scaling wall of one big AI model.

Also, aside from palintir and Nvidia, nobody is making more money from AI than they put into AI. It is a black hole of money right now.

That's just normal. Like the Internet crash of the early 2000, there will be an AI total crash. But then things will get real.

An AI agent just found the house I will be renting down south by the sea this winter....

Bill Gates not confident AI will be safe.

Ah yes, another know it all, also a Doctor ... Bill Gates.

Here's an idea Bill, if it's probably not a good idea and doesn't seem helpful to the world, maybe you and your billionaire buddies should stop working on it.
Maybe Bill doesn't want his kids to live to see past 50? Musk alone has like 10+ kids doesn't he?
Seems odd to me that they are all working on something they think will probably be bad for us all, bizarre mentality.
Unless there's some other nefarious stuff going on they won't tell us about?
Why are they all working on it if its prospects aren't good for "us", unless they don't include themselves in the "us" equation.

What was the joke that went around after the second Avengers movie came out?

Ultron spent a few seconds on the internet and decided that humanity had to die.

Trump may do a Mussolini on us and send the world economy to hell before AI does.

If this is true, the only rational course is to see more SPs. Before AI wipes them out.

Another great video;

The very top AI scientists (inlcuding the godfather of AI and Nobel Laureate) say that we only have a few years left. AI replacing and destroying us is absolutely imminent.

Chat GPT, in one year, went from an IQ of 96 (average) to 136 (genius level, smarter than 97^ of humans. But the amount of knowledge and level is far beyond the smartest person who ever lived.

Experts are saying AI will replace most jobs, leading to unemployment levels unfathomable (50%+)

There are whole swaths of employment categories that will be replaced by AI, or will have a seriously diminished need for human interaction.

Unemployment will increase exponentially.

I'm glad my son is in the trades, and and so happy my daughter didn't continue with her CGI courses, as computer graphics jobs in the entertainment industry are already being erased, or offshored to countries where people will do the same work, and endure the same or more amount of productivity pressure, for far lower wages.

Some are saying 99% unemployment.

Neanderthals went extinct because they could not compete intellectually with humans. What makes us different? Think of all the people with average intelligence. What need for them is there in a society with unlimited machines ten times more intelligent and 100 times more productive?

Think of all the people with IQS below 70. They are basically hidden away or locked up from society. Seen as a burden relying on others to support them. They contribute little to society and the economy, and most don’t work. The same will happen to us. It’s inevitable.
