I don't think, I would even want to fly over Afghanistan!

Why the hell would anyone want to see some dry mountains, and old rusty soviet tanks.

I have a distant friend who plays war games with paintball guns. He can now go to Afghanistan and play war games with real guns.

What's the pooning scene like in Afghanistan?
I think they're more into buying women, I don't think the rental market is very active. But for the right price you could marry a couple of girls from poor families and then divorce them a few weeks later.

I know a married couple from Afghanistan, they are first cousins to each other. It was arranged by their parents, and they have two kids now.

Talk about adventure tourism. See the sights, dodge militia attacks. Sounds fun.

Maybe they'll let you hold the rubble of historic sights like those Buddhas.

Frankly, I'd love to go. The scenery is supposed to be fantastic and you've got the historic sights. Not to mention the lack of other tourists.

I have a book written by a guy who decided to walk across Afghanistan in the middle of winter, relying on the kindness of people for food and shelter. A truly amazing story about a crazy man.

That's Rory Stewart from the UK. Brilliant young fellow who is following in the footsteps of the 19th century eccentrics and seems to have gone native.

I've also travelled across the Middle East relying on the kindness of strangers and they are extremely friendly people.

You say it was written four decades ago?
