Damn straight that's a lot of people. No question. They are the second largest party in the east, including Berlin, capturing almost 22% of the vote.
Especially considering the party formulated only a mere few years ago then quickly surged in 2015 when Merkel allowed ONE MILLION unvetted migrants into the country. After several terrorist attacks in 2016 the membership (predictably) spiked again.
The results were described by shocked "leading party figures" as a "political earthquake". (As reported by the left's beloved CNN).
