Long story short. If a hard drive is wiped with CC cleaner multiple times and Recuva is not bringing back specific files, is there any other file recovery program out there that might work?Is it possible to recover them at a later date?My brothers live in ex-gf left him a sweet gift of wiping his drive before she left.

There was a few folders of pics of our late mother on the drive. It's his issue, but there were some good memories in those folders that I immediately regretted not having had him forward them to me when i heard about this.Would having it taken to a service shop help?(they'd probably see some porn but that's about it).Any suggestions are appreciated.

Depends on what she did with CCcleaner. If she deleted the files and then did a wipe free disk space it's gone forever. No backups?

Unfortunately she did exactly that.File deletion and then it looks like she did a 7 time wipe at least .No back up.It was a long shot but was hoping maybe someone here had a better recover option. Thanks for the response.

Cops? Sue if there is a cost/service that can restore them?

I doubt that would a viable option. There's no proof she actually did it.On kind of a side note to this, my bro never realized how much of his stuff could be recovered porn wise lol.Nothing really nasty..just a lot of it .I've never used any scrubbing programs,(single now , and don't care who sees what)but he's downloaded a few free trials(File shredder & Cyber scrub) with some interesting results .

1.File shredder actually did a good job.The only files that seem to remain un-effected are ones starting with f_000a4b etc etc. There's about 200 of them that are still coming back with Recuva.Anyone have any idea what this may represent?
2. Cyberscrub Privacy Suite actually seemed more thorough, but when he ran Recuva afterwards it actually brought back almost 60,000 more files .Anyone have any idea why you'd be able to recover MORE files after running a program like that?On the bright side we're hoping the pics were are looking for may be there.

Again, any replies are appreciated.:)

Probably just file fragments left over. Starts with f_ and 00 0a 4b is hex code for 001075 or fragment #1075. Just a guess though...

Again, just a guess but these are probably fragments of the original files - just like you get 60,000 pieces when you break a plate.
