I’ve been a FBSM hobbyist for about 15 years and been married for much longer than that.

A few months ago I ventured into BBBJ (was not planned) and CFS (also not planned - happened during my last two Toronto visits). In my FBSM+ encounters with a handful of independents who are in their 50s (my age) they have said the risks from BBBJ is near zero. One shared she’s and her friends have given thousands of blow jobs and the only thing they got were sore necks. 😆. (For context, this was not an upsell but came up in a post FBSM+ discussion about CBJ vs BBBJ.)

I’ve done the research on medical sites as well as what I can find about actual experiences of people like us. Medically, it seems that it’s impossible to measure the lower risk activities because you can’t measure if protection was properly used and exactly how an event occurred. Experientially, what’s theoretically medically possible seems different from the actual experiences of the few people I have talked with and the experiences I have read.

For those of you who have been doing this a while, I would appreciate anything you would take the time to share.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Ya its guess work. I suspect its more dangerous now since sexual education is lower. There was a long time of free condoms at schools and universities and a real push for safe sex. Then everyone did it, and the education push stopped. A few years went by and now a generation or two are around without the constant push for safe sex - and now STD are on the rise in Canada - even if X is safe there being exposed to XYX who is not. Just like Mexico - lots of disease running around maximizing risk even if safe.

Near zero may be an overstatement, but generally low is probably fair... Maybe not low enough if you're going home to someone who you have intimate contact with and who doesn't know about your activities, but generally low. Low enough that a STI clinic will be low-key dismissive if you're show up deeply concerned, but with no symptoms of anything, a couple of months after an errant BBBJ. (Though getting tested regularly if you have multiple partners is a good idea.)
