Keep getting pop-ups from Ad-w-a-r-e.com
Spysweeper can't seem to find it. McAfree scan can't find it. Downloaded Adaware SE-Plus with VX2 killer but it can't delete everything.
It seems like one file survives everytime and then multiplies all over again. I've tried searching and using things like HijackThis and McAfee's Stinger but still can't kill it. Any suggestions?

Google it with "fix" and see if anything comes up. That's how I ultimately got rid of a highjacking program that nothing else could get rid of.

I use Norton Internet Security (much to the objections of most of the users on this board) Never have any problems. MY pc runs like a dream.

For those who are suffering like I did with constant pop-up ads from ad-w-a-r-e.com the situation's been resolved.

It turns out I'd been infected by 'Look2Me', the common name for the 'VX2.BetterInternet' trojan. Here are the steps I took

1. Internet Explorer > "Tools" Pulldown > "Internet Options..." > "Advanced" tab > Turn off all the 'Install On Demand' as well as 'Enable third party browser extensions'. That'll keep it from being downloaded in the first place.

it seems that to remove the virus successfully by the tool of VX2finder, my system was infected with the virus since 4 days before, but only VX2 finder can remove such virus(I also tried the special uninstaller, but nothing happened), please find the link to download the VX2 finder for 2k/xp OS, good luck!
