can anyone recommend an accounting software that works well for commission or %age based consignment pay agents?

my guess is that the accounting software would work good for real estate agents, model agents, or antique consignment malls, etc... ps, I got a huge supply of barely legal girls wanting to offer up their young tight bodies to age 40+ blue collar workers and be filmed for it... LOL, just kidding of course! actually, it'll be in the robotics field and contain very little hot naked chics. darn...

n-e- wayz, i'm thinking of launching a new business. my last business which I sold had it's own book keeping department that I tried to 'steer clear of' and because I contracted with Magna International, everything was audited by a large CA firm... now I'm just a little nobody guy again and gotta get things going on the cheap.

Quickbooks? any other suggestions?

Thx guys.

Know that when you buy Quickbooks, the $$$ only starts flowing. They want $$$ for ANY product support, money for each year's updates etc in the small business software end..

I had some really bad experiences with them several years ago and swore I'd never buy another product from them.
Agreed on quickbooks. They have some bullshit tactics to force you to upgrade and their reports $uck. Avoid at all costs.

I like simply accounting. Canadian company too! It's like quickbooks before the marketing vampires took over.

Simply Accounting is what all the accountants I know use for small businesses (though I don't think its canadian anymore).

I'm an accountant, and Simply is what I steer my clients toward. Obviously work with Qbooks as well, but with all the problems listed above and then some, far and away prefer Simply.

Depends how complicated your comission structure is - I find that an excel spreadsheet with some macros does the job and is simple and almost everyone has it - if you don't go download Open Office the free app - it has an excel clone.

Simply is more for large companies, MYOB is nice for small companies, cost is ok, easy to use.

FB, is there a Canadian version of MYOB, or is the US version adaptable to Canadian tax laws, etc..?

dr rogers, is there a link to templates for OpOff? I use OpenOffice, but I am not very good with spreadsheets.
