I just spent 2 hours going to a 2 hour call + 1 hour coming back. I was up the 427/across the 401 and back down the DVP, than the Gardiner........and I DIDN'T SEE ONE SNOW PLOW....is the city broke?

So happy to be home, feeling warm and fuzzy!!!

I just got home from a 6 hour excursion into the city as well.
2 hours there, 1 hour at an appointment, 1 hour to pick up a friend and almost 2 1/2 hours back home.
Got stuck behind some plows around cookstown but that was the only plow I saw.
None in the city, the 401, 407 and even the southern part of the 400 hadn't been plowed. The new jeep certainly came in handy!
Just plowed right through it!

I believe the City of Toronto outsources most of its snow removal. The contract probably runs from November-ish to March. I too woke up this morning surprised to find as much snow in the streets as there is. Mind you - a good portion of it will probably melt this afternoon anyway.

Since this thread is all over the place, but tanning appears to be a theme, might I ask someone to confirm if there is actually a nude beach on Centre Island. Not being from Toronto, I've been seeking to have this rumour substantiated.
