The dire human tragedy and the horrors of Katrina's bungled response was certainly the largest blemish, but there's something about the X!Xth century foppishness of the monarch dressing-up like a soldier in the misjudged Mission Accomplished Moment that will always blot his memory in a more personal way.

The irony of President D. Regulation and Deficit smugly listening to the constant river of blame from the podium because the nation's economic woes were not solved by the White House his party has blockaded, and smiling as speakers for the party of free enterprise promised their new President would fix his Recession, was not lost.

It really creates issues for the organizers of a coronation, when the old guy you're replacing insists on showing up instead of having the good taste to be dead. Isn't it interesting how different this event is from how the Republicans did democracy in days gone by? Very stage-managed and Entertainment Today, for the party of Eisenhower. But about right for the world of Stars Earn Stripes.

A bungled response that led to the deaths of ~1800 Americans!
What's tragically comical now is how sissy boi Bobbi Jindal has been muttering Obama should have done more with Hurricane Isaac! Thought this girly man was against Big Gov involvement, saying the States should take care if their own???....
Now he has his girly hand out looking for more Fed aid!....

Forgetting something?

Economy and Bank Failures aside, Katrina, and his reaction to it, was probably the largest blemish on George .W Bushes Presidency.
All petty shit compared to styarting a brutal and very costly war in Iraq just to get himself re-elected. An especially bad blemish due to the fact that Dubya was to much of a coward to go fight in a war himself...

The point I was making was A).The war was justified as a fight on terrorism B).The Banks on deregulation started during the Clinton Years C).Economy was partly blamed on terrorism.Katrina was a failure all his own..whether it be his own inaction or the incompetency of those he put in critical postiions.Aid reaction to Katrina was no ones responsibility but his.

Pu-leeese!

The point I was making was A).The war was justified as a fight on terrorism .
How about these points: There didn't turn out to be any WMDs, and the only "evidence" was cherry-picked intel and expatriate Iraqis with a highly transparent agenda. No real connection to Al Quida either - in fact AQ became a lot stronger in Iraq AFTER Saddam was gone and, finally, Saddam was an evil dictator (DUH) guilty of numerous human rights abuses - but not really any worse than after Desert Storm when Bush I choked and wouldn't finish him off by giving Gen. Schwartzkopf another 24-48 hours.

Thus, 2 costly wars (the second very, very much more-so) for the price of one and "terrorism" strengthened vs. weakened - GOOD JOB DUBYA!:p

I think "mission accomplished" would be a good epitaph for GWB's tomb stone when he finally goes.

His stellar achievement, measured by the solid economy and never before equalled prosperity and security of the nation when he left office, is a perfect illustration, that in an organization of sufficient size and diffuseness, appointing the CEO by the Peter Principle is relatively harmless.

Mind you, if I got those measures wrong …

Interesting note on how the precent leaders of the Republicans as neither were not invited to the convention. That speaks volumes. I can't remember the last timer it was done. Do you think they are trying to distance them from the previous Republican administrations?

Mind you Shrub has the distinction of being one of the worst President the country ever had, contrary to the laughable claims that it's Obama or Carter. Go ahead ask for basis of my claim, just like the last time we were over this. It's not even close.

Where are the little grunts, Kratz and MSOG? I guess they went to the same place as Relic and QIF. MSOG must have his shorts in a knot with his hero Ron Paul and his suppoters not being allowed in.
