I got up this morning and my right eye was red. I thought that the redness will go away by night but it didn't. I don't know what happened? I think there was a sun eclipse couple days back and, while driving I had accidently burnt my right eye. I can see OK but the redness is slow to go away. It is only in one eye. I cannot think of any other reason why should my eye be red. Any suggestions?

The doctor is in
It could be just a minor eye irritation if the redness is accompanied by stinging/soreness. However, I'd err on the side of caution and make an appointment with your optomatrist or opthamologist.

If it's something serious, you'll be glad you did. If it's not, he or she will probably prescribe some eye drops and send you on your way.

redeye / pink-eye...

I have gotten conjuntivitis - (pink eye) a couple of times. This is NOT an STD, its a highly contagious eye infection.

Treat it with prescription drops.

The redness is accompanied with eye sensitivity and gunk blocking it up, most noticable in the morning.

If it sounds like this you need a prescription.

If you wear your contacts for a great length of time, it can cause some irritation in your eyes.

There you have it, from the terb medical panel.
We might be near-experts on STD's, but for the love of God man - see a doctor!

Thanks People

Yes, I saw a doctor. Nothing serious and the redness has started to diminish. Thanks!
