Okay, out of curiousity...if you were to compete in an amateur competition, and you knew the following:

1. They do not drug test
2. Other competitors will be using them
3. If you didn't use them, you will likely not place in the top four to move on.

What would you do??? Would you simply say "ahhh...it's just a game" - or would you say "load 'em up baby", and become another pin-cushion????

Just curious.

That would be nice, but it is widespread. Happens in any event.

If the drugs are not banned by the organizing body and you're comfortable with it..."load 'em up baby". If the organizers have a specific policy, whether they test or not, you shouldn't. When all is said and done, at least you have your integrity in tact.

Damn, you're right.

Okay, I'm changing my opinion. I wouldn't juice up. Hell, I wouldn't even compete. I'd just stay home and fark the other competitors' girlfriends while they're training/competing/juicing up.

Mwuhahahahahaha!

Put it this way - if I go in "clean" - I'll be somewhere around 225/230 - if I "load 'em up" - I would likely be somewhere around 260ish.

I just think it is a huge strain on the system for amateur athletics - the sad thing is that I am considering doing this to raise money for charity!

I'd compete anyways. Clean. Not sure what the competition is, but, it would give me that much more incentive to try and win/place. How do I know that I won't place on the podium? Anything can happen. Juicing up may increase your chances, but, it doesn't make it an absolute.

It may not mean anything to anyone else, but, think of what it would mean to you to know you placed or beat those who were cheating.

If it's for charity, I would compete for the sake of the raising money for the charity.

Well Wooly, that is the plan - I will be competing regardless - this topic came up last night at the gym. It has been suggested that I do go on a drug programme to improve my chances, but I am not overly excited about the long-term effects.

I hear you could grow breasts with some of those so called drugs.
Really?? WOW!

Well there ya go HH! That could open up a whole new avenue for you. :D

BTW - I think you've already answered any question you have about taking them.

You know Sheik gets a lot of attention because of his.

And how exactly does the subject of going on a drug programme come up?

Hey Doctor,

You wouldn't believe how often it comes up. Anyhow, I think for now, I will be sticking to eating my wheaties, and re-revaluating in another 3-4 months.

haven't heard discussions like that since leaving university. I guess I go to the "little" people's gym now...or more likely I look like a cop.
