A question for the hobbiest

Does it matter when you call an agency whether a male or a female answers? I recently started answering our phone (due to a serious problem with some rude hobbiest) and all of a sudden many men have the wrong number or hang up. I answer polite but they sound starteled(sp) and nervous.

This has been asked before, and there may have even been a poll (I'll link to it when I find it). I believe the vast majority of gentlemen said they preferred a woman on the phone.

If your regular phone assistant finds a rude hobbiest, she could forward the call to you, and you deal with it.
