i was pulling some stuff of the trailer yesterday like i have done a thousand times before. nothing felt off but around 3 this morning i woke up with a blinding pain on my lower left side. i can't stretch on the bed or move really and i tried to stand nearly puked and passed out.

just wondering if the symptoms show up quick (than it is not a hernia) or if they can take a few hours to develop. i checked on google and it told me i am pregnant.

I thought hernias developed over time, but from what you're describing I'd head to the doctor. (Actually, the doctor is likely going to tell you to go to the ER so I'd just skip it and go straight to the ER.)

I'm wrong, the internet tells me that "a hernia can appear gradually or suddenly."

I say mrsCALoki is the father!
Evil :)

If it is a boy, let's call it Tonka. Although there used to be a 6 foot plus SP on BP by that name. Maybe not Tonka then.

Check your nuts.....
If one is higher than the other..or is gone completely....(possible inguinal) then you got a nut puller...chances are you got an abdominal pull/tear..in the wall...
do you have a swollen area or bulge in the area where it hurts the most?

Why do people keep asking medical questions on an escort board?

Is it because:
1) We know there are a lot of MDs among hobbiests.
2) We trust our fellow hobbiests more than any medical professionals.
3) Some of us at some time probably did the same stupid thing before
4) We are nuts
5) We like to examine other people's body but do not like ours to be checked
6) I give up

I'm going with kidney stones.

The bad news it hurts like hell, the good news you'll get some kick-ass pain killers

Let me know if you're ever sick and need an "expert mammary certifier & hamster inspector"

If it's near the back, probably a stone. If it's near the front, either way go see the doctors, as both are fixable.

If it is a hernia and you need surgery, go here and nowhere else: http://shouldice.com/
Shouldice is good and a real guys club experience, but it just 50's technique. Depending on the particular hernia, the technique is not alway the best. Had two over the years and the first one, 15 years ago, was treated at the Shouldice Clinic with an overnight stay. Krykie, the surgeon each do in excess of 700+ hernia operations every year The second one, four years ago, was day surgery under the hand of one of Toronto best surgeons at a nearby hospital. Both are doing fine. Get in get it done but don't make the mistake and try to get back to work too soon.

I had a hernia. I first noticed a small bulge. It was slowly increasing in size. I never had much pain with it, just towards the end of the day it would be like a nagging ache. I had surgery to fix it.

It definitely sounds like a kidney stone, sometimes they can block the urine tract making urinating almost impossible. If this happens, go to the hosp, they will help you pass it. Drink lots of water and/or cranberry juice, if you are still urinating fine, to help flush it out. If you are not going pee easily, try not to drink too much because you won't be able to release it if it's blocked. Hope you feel better soon.
