Some singer might think it was a cool thing to do to name himself
after the composer of one of the most beloved opera of all time,
"Hansel and Gretel". I mean which other singer would adopt a stage
name like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. IMO this Arnold Dorsey guy
was a dick.

I have no clue what your issue is ? Other than to tell you, that the Melody continues.

My post was meant to comment on the conduct of the singer
featured in your link. I understand the best etiquette is to keep the
content of a post relevant to the thread title. On the other hand I think
it is not unacceptable to say something that is less than 100% relevant.

I can see I'd prefer to receive the kind of response
I invited to a thread I open. But I wouldn't be surprised if
my thread got sidetracked which happens all the time. I
am sorry if my post upset you. But I truly don't see how
my remarks came across as disturbing. Just picture
this scenario.

Suppose someone post a link to some classical music piece
and raved about how haunting the music is. Instead of sharing
the poster's interest I remarked the composer of this piece
was quite a jerk. I can see that while this may not be the
kind of response invited by the thread owner my post is
not totally irrelevant. Many classical music composers were
difficult to get along with and some stories of them could
be amusing.

Arnold George Dorsey had the right to adopt any stage
name he liked, I suppose. I guess an artist can use any name
so long as it is not something like calling yourself Justin
Bieber which can get you sued. But Engelbert Humperdinck
could not come back from the grave to sue Dorsey for
borrowing his name. Since Humperdinck was little known
outside of those who love Hansel and Gretel I guess most people
won't really care about the use of his name. And I don't see
why anyone should be upset if I think Dorsey did a low thing
to borrow the name of a noted composer.

BTW, I actually did listen to Dorsey and actually consider
him a rather fine singer. IMO his voice rivals Andy Williams.

Thank you for this reply, I've learned something, and maybe this is why the melody is so Haunting.
I read somewhere that melodies such as these are encoded into out genes and passed on into our siblings. :thumb:
