You would think that it would be a waste of time but what most people don't know is the casinos pay the police of Las Vegas to have these sort of raids. Las Vegas Police Department gets a lot of money from them, not just from the government. The reason is this: The casinos believe that these ladies are taking away from potential profits if the guys spend money on the girls and not in the slots. Most hotels have their own working girls who are on their payroll. These girls make sure the clients keep spending the cash at that particular hotel. Just say I know a bit about what goes on down there.
Interesting. In all my trips to Vegas, I've never seen any working girls in the casino. Then again, I'm always glued to a slot machine and don't spend too much time in the bars and lounges. Perhaps they only come into play if you're a high roller or got lucky and became one. Anyway, I don't think you're going to see these kinds of "comps" advertised on Vegas reality shows or tourist brochures.
My observations are:
1. Vegas PD, like most West Coast PDs, comes down hard on prostitution, unlike East Coast cops, who are more likely to ignore it.
2. There are plenty of stupid tourists who think that prostitution is legal in Vegas. It's not legal in Clark County where Vegas is, but is legal in neighboring Nye County, and only then in the form of licensed brothels.
3. Whatever outcall operations are in Vegas are usually B&S, upsell, or downright robbery. So in this sense, it's almost a good idea for the cops to be busting these characters.
I'll be there for an early Thanksgiving vacation. Maybe I'll try to look like a high roller

Very slanted view on prostitution making it out like it’s all a bad thing.
Unfortunately, the general public worldwide does not look at prostitution in a favorable light. For a more glowing perspective on prostitution, you may want to check out the History Channel's History of Sex/History of Prostitution series.
