I went there for my first year. Some girl got raped in the first few days on residence. She didn't report it, but he was scared as fuck. He was also an unhygienic nasty pig, I felt sorry for his roommate. They were both international students, so I'm guessing she was afraid to go to campus security or police. The dude was outcasted after the incident.

The problem is they aren't coming forward to the authorities. It's all social media talk.

These scumbags who use drugs are pure sociopaths. I truly don't think their are any measures that can be taken to prevent these things. Anyone who has made it to adulthood and thinks drugging another human to rape them is too far gone for any education, intervention or other measures to reach. They just need to be outed, prosecuted and removed from society.

I don't blame the universities now. They are proactive on these things.

I think the problem is after the fact its hard to prove.

Hard to prove they took the drug unknowingly.

Hard to prove any acts were not consensual.

So i can see why a woman or man in that typr of situaution might be slow to come forward.

The quality of that reporting was pretty pathetic and highly uninformed. Bananas come in "Bunches", not a group of assaulted, drunk, young women.

Social media is just a problematic source of allegations. It a bad place to be convicted and sentenced.

Myself, I have always been a big believer in consent.

And also quite disinterested in necrophilia.

It is hard to imagine - in the big picture - a way to mitigate this nightmare. Oddly to me, it might be reducing the age for drinking, coupled with parental education. For both sexes, binge drinking seems to be the prime starting gate.

A certain % of people are just sociopathic assholes... everywhere.

I am almost certain this type of thing happens at most schools, every year. I wonder why it's making the news now? I wonder if it would not have been covered if the school paper had not printed it.
