Am I the only one who is getting nervous to board a plane in the future?
With all of the politics and coverage this is getting I would think there will be a concerted effort to make air traffic safety a number 1 priority.

I miss the fluffy slippers...Just saying.

It's a hangover effect after four years of the worst US government in history. I'm sure nine years of the worst Canadian government ever has contributed.
This thread should be moved to the political section by a moderator because the answer to the OPs question is political.

So back to the original question. How is everyone feeling about boarding plane now? Did anyone pushed back some travel plan or are looking into other transportation modalities?

Planes in all aspects have in general got worse. They killed the whistle blowers, or they committed suicide depending how you feel about the Epstein case. Anyway, if murder is on the table for just talking about bad safety . . .

Took a few flights recently, and it just feels like riding the bus these days.
Even business class is jammed up & the glamor of flying isn't there anymore. This is just a mode of transport to me at this point. My spouse flies alot for work & we worry, but you cannot live life in fear of 'what if?'

Would I cancel a flight? No, if it's my time, might as well make it exciting.
Would I consider driving? Sure, 5-6 hr limit before I want to rest up, depends where you're going.

Try the train if possible, depending on the route it can be a peaceful way to travel

La la land
I been talking to a few psychics and spiritualist. They have a feeling its energetic lines between Earth and the Sun. Like lighting with no visual.

I say sure, I will wear a body cam and have my seat belt on.

I've been in communication to the gods controlling Earth's climate. I
was told the spike in aviation disasters is a divine message to humanity
on the urgency of shutting down world's airports to avert global climate
catastrophe.

Honestly, I gave up on flying a few years ago. The crowded airports, the cramped seats, the possibility of crying babies, screaming toddlers and drunken idiots, it is just no longer for me.

I travelled a lot in my 20s and 30s so I got most of it out of my system and now I spend my summers on the water and my winters as a hermit and it is a nice balance.

Compared to 1 in 2023 and 4 in 2024.

.

Am I the only one who is getting nervous to board a plane in the future?
Probably.

Better check those numbers. There was alot more than 1 in 2023 and 4 in 2024.

How many plane crashes in 2024 worldwide?

According to NTSB data, there have been 115 aviation accidents and incidents so far this year—that includes commercial and private planes and other aircraft such as helicopters—around the world. During the same period in 2024, the NTSB recorded 187 aviation accidents and incidents globally.

I won't give up completely but I found myself wanting to stay on the ground too...

Considering up until Trump took office, commercial airline crashes were virtually unheard of in the US since that one outside of Buffalo back in something like 2008...But since Trump....well....There have been a lot...

I fly about once or twice a year and have no issues with getting on a plane.
