9-year old forgotten at airport

So is this a case of gross negligence or just a "mistakes happen" sort of incident. Fortunately, it seems that everything worked out in the end.

Far more information would be needed to judge this event than is provide in the text of the article. First place I would investigate is why didn't someone come and get him for the flight? Was he bumped as the article suggests? Did something happen to whomever was supposed to fetch him? Why isn't there some sort of list provided to the room attendant so they know who's going to be leaving? I could go on and on here.

I haven't read the article yet, but my first thought was "what's the race of the parents?". I must be sick in the head.

This is more a case of an airport farkup than the parents......

There was a similar thing, years ago (sixties). It was a well-known actress (Glenda Jackson, I believe). She had things on her miond, and forgot she was travelling with her kid, and was airborne when she remembered. Don't recall how it worked out, but no harm done.
