Mother's Day is a celebration honoring mothers.
Origin of Mother's Day goes back to the era of ancient Greek and Romans. But the roots of Mother's Day history can also be traced in UK where a Mothering Sunday was celebrated much before the festival saw the light of the day in US.
The celebration of Mother's Day began in the United States in the early 20th century. The modern holiday of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908, when Anna Jarvis held a memorial for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. She then began a campaign to make "Mother's Day" a recognized holiday in the United States.
One relationship which is always with us is the one we share with our mothers. They are our guiding force and are responsible for making us who we are.
Mothers also shape our lives and our personalities and crediting them for the same is something one should do at every opportunity.
We might have our own individualistic approach in paying tribute to these amazing people in our lives, our mothers.
