i was wondering in anyone could point me in the right direction. i have a car that i have owned out right for the last few years. i stopped driving it 2 years ago when the plate expired as i had a company vehicle. i have since recieved trip reports from the etr demanding money for using their road. a relative told me that if i go to sell ot transfer the car etr/mto will take the cash before i can recieve it. is this true? do i have any way around it?

if you used the 407 you will not be able to get plates for any vehical they would have to go to court to force the sale money to them.

If as has been the case quite a few times the bill is not yours, start screaming it is the only way to get their attention, a reporter would also help they hate bad press.

i did use their road but it was a long long time ago. since then the interest has skyrocketed and i can afford to pay it.

Interesting turn of phrase. I think those are normally called 'bills'. Is it a legitimate bill? Did a car with license plates registered to you use the 407?

do i have any way around it?
Depends. Are you disputing an incorrect charge, or dodging a legitimate debt?

If it's you, pay it. If it wasn't you call them and they will work it out pretty quick. When it happened to me it took less than a minute to figure out it wasn't my car.
