Most analyst state Florida Gators are the best team in nation due to depth roster. They just won SEC Championship. My money is on the Gators to win it all. Let the madness start.

Gators are a solid team, they have a chance of winning it all. Cougars are solid as well, as for Duke, i hope they get bounced and upset 1st round

I don't bet on sports.

Years ago, I read about a site name kenpom(dot)com. It's still around. I didn't provide a link because I cannot personally vouch for the site, and if I WAS a shill, there WOULD be a link. Here IS an endorsement of the site by a different TERB member:

My understanding is that kenpom(dot)com provides a lot of team statistics not easily found elsewhere, with an emphasis on differences between a team's performances in home, road and neutral site games.

Anyone who is looking for an edge in an NCAA pool with people who don't read the Sports forum on TERB might find perusing this site over the next couple of days to be a good investment in one's time.

SEC looks super strong. Florida, Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee could all make the final 4. Duke (as much as I hate them) looks good, great of Flagg is healthy. Houston looks really good. Great defensive team but able to score as well. I suspect St John's will bow out earlier than expected.

If I had to make my bet right now, I'd say Florida over Duke in the final.

Some good games but with the favourites doing so well, we haven't had the excitement of a cinderella.


p.s. ESPN's bracket challenge had 25 million entries and only 2 were still perfect after the first round and those were none pretty quickly on the saturday.

we are spared the nightmare of 4 SEC teams in Final 4. LOL, Alabama / TEN were blown out and Florida / Auburn barely got by in the final minute. Duke's offense and Houston's defense will dominate the winner of the Auburn / Florida in the final.

1983 NC state beating NC with MJ and Sampson and in the final beating Clyde and Hakeem Olajuwon .

1985 Villanova seeded #8 beating Georgetown with Patrick Ewing.

These are my favs Cinderellas teams esp NC state.
