- most not disclosed.

Oda, now minister of international co-operation, was under fire in February 2007 when the Star revealed she spent $5,500 on limo rides at the Juno Awards in Halifax in April 2006. In some cases the car was put on standby for up to seven hours even though she could walk from her hotel to the event.

It would be easy to take pot shots at Harper here - because he claimed it wouldn't happen under his watch. I'm certainly the first to point out how sanctimonious he can be - and the sanctimonious braggarts are always the ones getting into trouble.

But the fact is - in every party there are the good guys and the bad guys. What I don't understand is how there could be a process of approval that allows this stuff to happen!

The other side of the coin you see in stories like this:

I remember back in the days when school trustee salaries were obscenely high - all for a part time job. Well, years back they cut these salaries way back. Their revenge was to get it all back through expense accounts.

And no one is checking. And some of the expenses are currently allowed!

Here's what I think. These trustees are clearly so odious that they aren't fit to be trustees. I wouldn't want such cretins to be in charge of my kids' schools (if I had kids).

Oh - yeah - Oda should be given the boot.

Do our local police require an invitation from the school board to investigate this kind of fraud or can they just go ahead and start charging these croooked trustees based on the evidence that is emerging? Our school boards are public institutions - not private companies - so you'd think they would be fair game for the fraud squad.

don't know.

I don't know to what extent this is fraud. The double usage of receipts is fraud. But unless there are strict rules in what counts as an expense, there may be no actual fraud with some of these cases.

Here is what happened. In an attempt to discredit the Tories, Adrienne Clarkson developed a alias (Bev Oda) and sneaked into the party. How else can you explain the (Liberal like) blatant wasting of taxpayers money?
