11million bottles of acetaminophen recalled

A list of the batch numbers of the acetaminophen can be found online, and the FDA advised consumers to look for the numbers on the labels of their bottles. The recall includes more than 380 batches of the product that could have been shipped to 129 chain stores. Expiration dates range from September 2006 to August 2009.

The FDA said this recall only involves 500 mg caplets and will not cause a shortage of the medicine

These were made by an American generic company and that means it doesnt affect Canada as far as I know. All Tylenol bottles should be 100% safe

Esco...not doubting you...but what do base that statement on? Can the American generics not ship to Canada?

I know the US and Canadian drug laws are vastly different.

But I have a local variety store, no they are not Canadians that run the store and their hertitage is unimportant, but I have noticed very unusal generic brand names on the over the counter drugs they are allowed to sell.

Nothing that made alarms go off..just a hmm?...never seen that before. What would stop them from going to Buffalo and sneaking back a case of OTC meds?

Maybe if you've got an "off brand" it might be best to check the list Alexis posted from the FDA to be safe.

I'm not 100% sure and I could be wrong, but the company in question (Perrigo Co., of Allegan, Michigan) doesnt ship to Canada.
Also I'm almost 1 million percent sure they dont manufacture acetaminophen for the tylenol company, so their brand should be totally safe.

So if you need acetaminophen just stick with tylenol and you should be allright.

everyday .So of course Canadians could have picked up a bottle visiting the States.Americans do lurk on terb as

well .Yes some stores in Canada do sell little bits of this and that of personal buy of American product
