I'll summarize what you'll learn at the workshop.

1.) Set up a workshop to teach others how to make money

2.) Charge $10

3.) Voila

Trust me, people who know how to legitimately make mucho cash aren't holding seminars to fleece those who wanna make mucho cash.

MOTIVATION with Lance Armstrong Five Time TOUR DE FRANCE Winner

Keebler Elf, learningannex.com is a legit organization, owned by chum/ city...I have taken their courses and never felt "scammed" and I am far from naive...$10.00 is a good deal for this...I don't make any $$ from this post, I am just sharing...

Do you think this is a scam too:

IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE POWER WITHIN
For the first time ever under one roof see five of the most prolific communicators of our time. Live and In Person! You will learn from real world experts who are the best-of-the-best, in an incredibly entertaining environment that empowers you to take action immediately to transform your life forever.

MOTIVATION with Lance Armstrong Five Time TOUR DE FRANCE Winner
National and world champion cyclist, two time Olympian, renowned humanitarian, role model, cancer survivor, and now 5-time winner of the Tour De France, Lance Armstrong is clearly one of the most celebrated and charismatic contributors to the sport of cycling. He not only made world headlines in Paris on July 25, 1999 with the most stunning comeback ever in the history of sport, but the personal side of this resounding triumph brought Lance's life and career full circle. To say that he is an emotional athlete is an understatement. To say that he is a passionate and fearless competitor is evident. However, what may not be so readily apparent is the depth of character and generosity of spirit that is so much a part of the psychological blueprint of this modest and straightforward hero.

SUCCESS with Mark Burnett Producer SURVIVOR, APPRENTICE
The genius behind the wildly popular Survivor series and a driving force behind reality television, Mark Burnett is the hottest producer in television. What most people don't know is that Burnett has his own survival story to tell, and it¹s every bit as riveting as the show. A decade ago, he was selling t-shirts on the beach in Southern California. But through a combination of inspiration, determination and sheer nerve he transformed his life, went on to produce an Emmy-winning extreme sports program, and of course, created the most popular series on the air today.

LEADERSHIP with Peter Gruber Founder & Chairman of Mandalay Entertainment
Founder and Chairman of the visionary multimedia venture, Mandalay Entertainment, Peter Guber is perhaps the most successful executive in the entertainment industry. As a producer, his films, including Rain Man, The Color Purple and Batman, have earned over three billion dollars world-wide and garnered more than 50 Oscar nominations.

TEAMWORK with Gene Kranz Failure is not an Option (Apollo 13)
As the leader of the "Tiger Team" of flight directors who brought the Apollo 13 spaceship safely back to Earth on April 17, 1970, Gene Kranz demonstrated extraordinary courage and heroism. The hit film, Apollo 13, chronicles Kranz's struggle to devise the plan that would safely bring the ship and its crew of three astronauts home after its oxygen system failed.

STRESS MANAGEMENT with Loretta LaRoche Life is Short Wear Your Party Pants
In her own lighthearted and enlightening workshop, Loretta will show us how we become crazed and humorless. Then she shows us how to lighten up and let go by reframing our thoughts, celebrating life and learning how to use irreverence rather than irritability to get through life. We explore why we behave the way we often do, and how to increase our sense of optimism, joy and humor.

GENERAL SEATING TICKET PRICE: $329 now just $229 plus tax.

Not everything for $10.00 is a scam to scam others...do your homework, I do!

To answer your question, yes I think that's a scam too. Just like I think corporate training sessions that run into the thousands of dollars are a scam, but since it's paid for as a business expense no one complains.

The implication to these seminars is that "you too can go and be great like us!" - all for the modest price of 29.95!!! or whatever. When in fact, those people got to where they are through hard work and are now using these seminars to make a quick buck.

Show me a big name financial guru who got to where they are by going to one of these seminars. Oh that's right, they didn't.

So, yes, I do consider it a scam. It's a scam just like the lottery in that it preys on people's desire for easy money. For that cost, you would be MUCH better off going to see a financial planner. But then, that doesn't have the same cache to it now does it? And your financial planner isn't Mark Burnett!!! Oooo! Big wow! It's Mark Burnett!

If someone wants to go, fine. It's your money. But at least go in knowing that the primary reason for the seminar's existence is to make money for the presenters - not for you...

Mark Burnett's profile did not say he is a finacial planner, are you confused?

The same could be said about a lot of things such as university degree in the arts & lit., these days, I guess...I would address your other points, but I don't want to start a flame war...its only about $10.00

Learning, especially finance, is generally not free, for most. $10 is not much for a primer before you go and see a financial planer, etc...caveat emptor 7/24 is the norm...

I agree...

Even though I do subscribe to The Learning Annex e-mail program. I think some of their courses are interesting and worthwhile. Most are just gimmicks at best or complete scam in my mind.

Just like those guys you see on infomercials late at night in the wee hours of the morning on TV. Make $millions$ on real estate with no down payment or some kind of import/export or mail order business. If I made $MILLION$ in real estate with no down payment I would be on some tropical island in an adult resort somewhere. I would not be in some studio working my butt of making some infomercial. That or I would still be out there doing it. Why would I tell the whole world my secret? Every $million$ you make from my secret methods is a $million$ I won't make. Know what I mean?

I agree, be selective and the only reason I posted, it was only $10.00 for the day

I agree with this! You have also seen that they do not have many $10/ day courses...

:)

p.s. I know a few millionaires and they like sharing their info for a fee, some for free, because they want to give back...not everyone is greedy is all I am saying...I agree there are a lot of scams out there.

I just registered and fyi, it is at the inn on the park crowne plaza [northeast corner of lelie and eglinton, don mills), as most of their presentations are downtown...nothing ventured, nothing gained...
