they killed Michelle why oh why

so have they explained who these baddies are fully or not I wasnt fully paying attention, are they some sort of Russian nationalists trying to stop the treaty from being signed

Personally I think Derek has to be next. His teenage agnst act is so dated. Especially since he looks 25. We get it Derek, you're angry at nothing. Now die you stupid little cliche of a dweeb.
Tony will survive. This is his track record on the show the last few years. He gets injured or his ass kicked and spends the 1st half of the season recuperating and then gets better just in time to save Jack from some shitstorm he gets himself in.UMustang said:

ok now to sound completely unpopular here but I really hope they dont bring back Elisha Cuthbert's character at all she was so lame, one year its all teenage angst and the next oh she is now working for CTU and is a professional in a business suit, sending her off with that lame tough guy boyfriend of hers was the best thing they did
As expected, I'm eagerly awaiting Kim's return. It's long overdue. Killing Michelle hurt because she was looking pretty fine and it looked like she'd been successful in ditching that stuffy buisness wardrobe she'd worn while at CTU. There were glimpses last year, but not until late in the show.
Thankfully Connie Britton (Diane) and her wonderful breasts are making an appearance this year. Kudos to the producers. I've been waiting for them to re-appear since the end of Spin City.
Apparently president Palmer's been killed or something like that as well. I'll have to watch the other charcters a little more tonght.
BTW- Tony will survive the brain surgery and be up and walking by episode 9. After that he'll play a key role in connecting the terrorist to Jack's past.

President Palmer is not dead. Jack knows this as he was lookng at the body lying on the ground and saw his right hand face up with no scar on the palm.The Doctor said:Apparently president Palmer's been killed or something like that as well. Palmer's palm had a scar resulting from the assassination attempt at the end of season 1 from the assassin who was played by Mia Kirshner who shook his hand with some poison on it.
What was stupid was the body lying on the floor for such a long time giving time for Jack to view it. They would have moved it to the hospital to try and save his life or to the morgue for an autopsy.
