Anyone interested? Some other pools have been created here but I was wondering if there was any other interest - just for fun. If we can get 20 teams we'll have a live draft in early October. It's a Yahoo fantasy league.

I'd join (the other league I started never took off), but I can't commit to a live draft. Is that a problem?

how much work over the year? well thats up to you, you only really make changes if someone is injured or if someone stinks

Sarge, you can just pre-rank, and your team will be drafted based on your rankings...

Would anyone be interested in a head to head pool. This one looks good, but I don't like that your only allowed to make 10 moves, what if you have up to 10 injuries on the season?

No problem guys - your wish is my command. I have changed roster moves (injuries, retirees, etc.) to 100 over the season and trades to 40 over the season. There is no "unlimited" on either but I would think that 100/40 is more than enough. If there are any other suggestions since I'm the commish please let me know. Many changes can't be made after the draft. Cheers.

FYI. The other pool is H2H. But I'm probably going to kill it because there isn't enough interest.

Is this a rotissiere league? I would prefer Head-to-Head. Rotissiere has that weighted scoring system so that your standing is based on how others are doing. It's not a bad system for public leagues, but it gives no incentive for the shitty teams to make their teams better since the scoring system gives the perception that a medicore team is doing 'alright'. Plus, there's no 'playoffs' in rotissiere. And there's no incentive to be an active manager because, in theory, you can go months without having to adjust your lineup.

Moving on...I like some sort of limit on the number of moves. Trust me, there's always one guy who will do pick-ups and drops almost every single day in order to whore as many points as possible. In a rotissiere league it doesn't matter much since there are limits on the number of games played at each position. But in an H2H league it can really make a difference if the whoring manager really knows what he's doing.

I'm in a baseball pool with a guy who has made well over 200 moves this season. It was pretty much myself and 10 other teams with our 15 players each versus this guy and the rest of MLB. Poetic justice though - he only managed to finish 3rd and got beat out in the first round of the playoffs. But it was a pathetic fantasy season in that league since the other managers could not quickly pick up a decent player to fill in an injured player because all the decent ones were constantly clearing waivers instead of being a free agent.

I hear you, but, in the league I set up when someone wants to trade and gets someone to trade with it goes to the league for approval. All owners vote on whether the trade is fair or not. You need a majority agreement from other owners to trade. This cuts down on, as you say, the retards who trade all the time. As for injuries, etc. You will draft 2 bench players and if a guy gets hurt you can add a bench player then you go to the undrafted free agents and fill the bench position. You can put guys on IR. You can put guys on waivers and pick up any undrafted up to 40 in the year.

:)

I'm well aware how it works. hahahahah.

(sorry, not trying to be a smartass. It just seems funny to have it all spelled out for me.)

I'd join but I'm already at the max amount of teams Yahoo lets a person enter.
