Hello Gentlemen,

It's Asian Nicole. I am a big fan of Diana Krall. I had been looking forward to seeing her performance on stage for a very long time, and finally my dream came true. I was delighted to accompany one of my best friends to see Diana Krall's concert on last Friday night (Nov. 24th) at Massey Hall.

The pianist-singer’s unassertive approach means a performance can lose focus and this two-hour concert meandered. Diana Krall made modest use of slowly alternating pastel backdrops this time. Engrossed in the keyboard and soloing extensively throughout the whole show, she seemed to be seeking solace as much as musical backup in the piano.

“It’s hard to find the words to express my feelings about being here,” she told the expectant audience. “But, fortunately, I have the piano,” she whispered.

Diana Krall (born November 16, 1964) is a Canadian jazz pianist and singer, known for her contralto vocals. She has sold more than 6 million albums in the US and over 15 million worldwide. On December 11, 2009, Billboard magazine named her the second Jazz artist of the 2000–09 decade, establishing her as one of the best-selling artists of her time.

Diana Krall is the only jazz singer to have eight albums debuting at the top of the Billboard Jazz Albums. To date, she has won three Grammy Awards and eight Juno Awards. She has also earned nine gold, three platinum, and seven multi-platinum albums.

Wow...Thanks so much once again for the wonderful jazz night! I had a great time with you, my darling friend!

This was the last song ('Sway') of the concert. I know this movie--"Unfaithful", and I liked it! This song gives such a beautiful interpretation of the movie and very suits the atmosphere!! Diana Krall's singing lends itself to it wonderfully. Thank you, dear Diana!

Hello Gentlemen,

When I listen to Diana Krall's jazz songs, Norah Jones who is another pop jazz singer always comes to my mind. Actually I with the same friend went to see Norah Jones's concert at Massey Hall on May 26th, 2017 . It was fantastic! Her voice was very smooth and sultry.

Norah Jones (March 30, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. She has won numerous awards and has sold more than 50 million records worldwide. Billboard named her the top jazz artist of the 2000–2009 decade. She has won nine Grammy Awards and was 60th on Billboard magazine's artists of the 2000–2009 decade chart.

In 2002, Jones launched her solo music career with the release of Come Away with Me, a commercially successful and critically acclaimed album that was a fusion of jazz with country music and pop. It was certified Diamond, selling over 27 million copies. The record earned Jones five Grammy Awards,
including the Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist.

Hello Gentlemen,

Diana Krall, Norah Jones and their ilk aren't the first jazz-based musicians to benefit from this hunger for easy-listening fare. In the late '80s and '90s, "smooth jazz," a blandly melodic blend of fusion jazz and R & B, became standard fare in elevators everywhere.

Derided by jazz purists as "fuzak," smooth jazz turned the bleat of a soprano saxophone into the most feared cliché in popular music, in the process making millions for the likes of Kenny G, Najee and George Howard. Yet for all its militant mellowness, smooth jazz has always tried to maintain some rhythmic urgency, fuelling its airy noodlings with grooves derived from funk.
