Hello Gentlemen,

It's Asian Nicole. In early October, 2017, I went to both the fish ladder and Port Hope to see migrating salmon and trout. At this particular time, viewing the fish at the ladder was mainly in the water, with fish frequently jumping. Wow...it was amazing!

The viewing was more interesting and active, with multitudes of large salmon easily seen in the shallow river, and often jumping over the natural rock falls that impede their progress. On this day, the viewing was better in town, rather than at the fish ladder, but I assume that this changes depending on the time of year and the stage of the migration. A phenomenon of nature that is well worth seeing.

Hello Gentlemen,

Port Hope is a municipality in Southern Ontario, about 109 kilometers east of Toronto. It is located at the mouth of the Ganaraska River on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Ganaraska was attributed to the area by the First Nations natives of the region and is what they called the river that flows through the town.

Downtown Port Hope is well known as a shopping destination for antiques and other specialty items and is widely regarded as one of the best-preserved main streets in Ontario. The Ganaraska River is well-known to area anglers for annual salmon and trout runs.

Hello Gentlemen,

After I visited Port Hope, also in October, I went to Muskoka to see the fall colors. I visited the beautiful town-Bracebridge. Truly amazing...I was so surprised by the stunning views of the surrounding area.

Bracebridge is a town and the seat of the Muskoka District Municipality in Ontario. The town is a centre of tourism for the Muskoka area, and home to several historical sites, such as the Inn at the Falls, Woodchester Villa, and the Silver Bridge.

The town was built around a waterfall on the Muskoka River in the centre of town, and is known for its other nearby waterfalls (Wilson's Falls, High Falls, etc.). It was named after a book--Bracebridge Hall by Washington Irving.

Hello Gentlemen,

I visited a charming town--Heidelberg a few weeks ago. Heidelberg, Ontario is an old-fashioned and almost 200-year-old town established with strong Mennonite roots. Named for the German city of the same name, Heidelberg was founded by many with the same ancestry. It's only minutes away from Waterloo, St. Jacobs, and the renowned St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market.

The Heidelberg Restaurant is in Heidelberg. This restaurant is famous for their Pennsylvanian Dutch (German) cuisine. The food was so delicious and I love it! Yummy! 😋
