I am from the US and I would like to get a Canadian sim card for my future hobbying trips. Is there any way to get it directly in the US before going to Canada so that I can book in advance and complete any phone screening if necessary.

Good points all. That is the overall impression I had too. But being the only legal option in the US, you expect some premium in terms of prices but if we are talking about $1K+ for a shot, that seems a waste.
