My heartfelt sympathy to the people of Russia over the tragedy which just happened

bb king is quite right. The REAL REASON we have such a large proportion of immigrants in TO is because our economy is expanding too fast for rural and small town Canada to supply manpower for our low end jobs. Thus, we "import" people. Far from draining $ from Canada, immigrants actually create...

SexyChanel Being Sued by Chanel Inc.

I agree. It's a lost cause. She should try and get the original deal back. If she fights it out in court, she will pretty clearly lose.

    Separation advice needed

It makes no difference if she's having an affaire. Divorce these days is "no fault". Until she moves into a separate bedroom, she's not "separated". She will also have to stop eating with the husband guy, stop watching tv with him and generally live as a stranger under the same roof. No harm...

    Separation advice needed

Actually, you're right..... ... He who leaves the house often loses custody of the kids by default. And losing custody normally leads to losing your right to stay in the house and to a decade or so of paying child support. So tactically it makes sense to hang in there.

    Separation advice needed

I'm a family lawyer. I run a banner ad on TERB. Under the Family Law Act, both married partners have the right to stay in the matrimonial home. The only ways to over-ride that right are as follows: 1. One of the partners agrees, either informally or in a separation agreement, to leave; 2. A...

WTF? will santillo - paying the price of success ...?

Sounds like Pamela's "not Santillo" pix are a parody. I don't think he'd be able to sue her for trying to 'pass off' her site pix as his work. Maybe if she'd used his script and logo and deliberately spelled the name "Santilloe" or something, in a way that confused other people, an action would...

Receive bad service, complain, get sued for $15 Million

A couple of points.... 1. In Canada, succesful Defendants recoup about 60% of their legal fees in the form of court costs awards from the trial judge. This is not the situation in the USA and as a result, frivolous suits are far more frequent in the States. In this country it's also open to...

    Prostitution in Iran (maybe)

Hmmmmmm........... But what about the recent case involving the 2 Iranian national soccer team players who were flogged for seeing a pro when touring outside the country??? One of the poor guys got 200 lashes!!! Doesn't exactly smack of a tolerant attitude towards sex-for-pay! Worse than Texas...

Internet Anonymity/ Privacy: Not as absolute as you'd like to think!

Probably could do..... Just sign up a quickie hotmail a/c while at the internet cafe. I presume the perp wouldn't give hotmail any true info about himself. The addy would be used only from internet cafe's, university computers, etc.

    Legal Help

Hire X-Copper or another paralegal firm that specializes in traffic ticket defence. NO lawyer is likely to know that much about this stuff. Lawyer's just don't do it. (Too small). If you do hire a law firm, you'll be assigned the articling student - who knows squat about anything. Plus they'll...

Internet Anonymity/ Privacy: Not as absolute as you'd like to think!

Article in this week's "The Lawyers' Weekly" - Yes, I KNOW you all read it for light entertainment!..... Apparently, internet anonymity is being challenged more and more succesfully by litigants seeking the perps of internet slander campaigns. Latest in the line of cases is a succesful court...
