In the 80s, Philip Morris used the same marketing techniques and addictive chemicals as cigarettes so that people would buy fast food and ultra processed foods.

With Remembrance Day approaching, I had hoped to purchase a live poppy flower, bring it to the 48th Highlanders' Ceremony in front of Old City Hall in Toronto, then exchange mine for his plastic and felt facsimile. I was told by the florist in the Loblaw's store at Carlton and Church St, (formerly the southeast corner of Maple Leaf Gardens), that the sale of lie, cut or dried organic poppies is illegal in Canada.

Pierre Elliott Trudeau was famous for having a fresh red rose pinned to his coat lapel during photo opportunities. In a television interview following his then-wife Margaret's philandering with at least two members of the Rolling Stones, a petal on the rose he was wearing was turned outward in such a way that the rose itself resembled the Rolling Stones Logo.

Richard Simmons accidentally 'outed' himself as gay on a 1989 special episode of Family Feud.

If it were true, the story still pales in comparison to Family Feud’s demented history with their former hosts:
-Ray Combs was thrown under the bus and the subsequent hardships in his life resulted in him eventually committing suicide
-Louie Anderson was extorted by a guy who he paid for ‘sexual favours’

For 1938's The Wizard of Oz, MGM's production team were given a very specific task for the wizard's jacket: Find a real Edwardian jacket from the year 1900. (The year in which the novel was created)

Production searched for weeks in every costume shop in Hollywood, New York and Chicago with no luck. MGM kept demanding that the team find their exact vision. In one last effort, the team stopped in a charity shop in Chicago, and there it was - the perfect Edwardian jacket from that era. They brought it back to MGM where Frank Morgan (the wizard) wore it perfectly as if it was made for him.

With it being so hot in studio, Frank Morgan would be soaked in sweat, but MGM would not allow him to take off the jacket while on set. He would turn his pockets inside out to let them dry. One day Frank turned his pocket as usual, only to reveal a name sewn into it. The name sewn into the wizard's jacket was none other than... L. Frank Baum - the author of The Wizard of Oz.

As far as I can tell, ther

Let's trade stories in private, shall we, the 'woman way', adapted for exchange of information important to gathers of trivia which doesn't have a short term best before expiry date.

Another time; that isn't time sensitive stuff. I'm hitting the sack. Incoming can wait.

Several years ago I was watching old Family Feud's with my daughter who was a teen at the time. She was completely gobsmacked that Richard Dawson kissed every woman on the show, on the mouth.
To a lesser extent, Bob Barker on Price Is Right, every time a contestant guessed the exact price, they won $100. If it was a man, he would hand him the hundred, if it was a woman, he would make her reach into his pocket to get it.
