What show had a character mention the children's books, The Cat In The Hat and The Five Chinese Brothers?
Answered by onomatopoeia
They were quintuplets!FYI: The Classic children's book The Five Chinese Brothers is banned from Toronto libraries because of the premise that each of the brothers looked exactly alike, which would be fine if they were White.
If anyone is every looking to acquire a copy of this book, check at Doug Miller Books, 650 Bloor Street West, a little west of Bathurst on the north side. I know that Doug bought many copies when the publisher was clearing old stock. Doug still owes me two copies from a trade we made in 2017, but that's my bad. I haven't been near there recently. The closing of Honest Ed's, the bike lane and COVID-19 were all huge blows to Doug's business. He's a great guy, and if any of you ever wants old or new children's books, that's his specialty.
What's his name?
Yes, but activists claimed that it promoted racism through the concept that Chinese people all look alike. They were quintuplets!
Maybe that just applies to my local library near Gerrard East and Parliament. The Toronto Centre MLA is almost always from the NDP, currently non binary Kristyn Wong-Tam.The book is not banned from the Toronto Public library as far as I can tell.
It's listed as available in multiple locales.
That wouldn't make any sense, though.Maybe that just applies to my local library near Gerrard East and Parliament. The Toronto Centre MLA is almost always from the NDP, currently non binary Kristyn Wong-Tam.
I don't care. I have more than one copy. That wouldn't make any sense, though.
You think they would block it if you asked for an Interlibrary loan?
Just not carrying it at a specific branch isn't a ban of any kind, most books aren't in all 100 or so branches.
Perhaps it's banned from elementary school libraries, but not from public ones. That wouldn't make any sense, though.

I think worrying about books being banned is something to care about.I don't care. I have more than one copy.
It seems very important to you that it is banned.Perhaps it's banned from elementary school libraries, but not from public ones.
