Mexican cartels operating inside the US might be an option.
They'll do anything for money
So will the Bloods, Crips, numerous other gangs. There will be sympathetic citizens. I actually think it would cause massive protests and riots in the USA, especially if they tried a draft.

The only place they ever really held was the capital. And that took almost everything they had, and NATO troops.
It didn't take almost everything they had, it took almost everything they were given. Big difference. A colonization effort wouldn't spare the expense or keep the gloves on.

What does that have to do with anything?? A war is a war, regardless of the reason its being waged
LOL! You clearly don't know anything about wars. There is a massive difference in the commitment to a colonization effort and a retributory war against a weakling nation like Afghanistan.

The actual war in Afghanistan was over in like two weeks, the rest of those years were spent on a fruitless "nation building" project from Kabul which was a waste of time because Afghans aren't willing to fight for their own Democracy.

When a country wants to colonize another they don't spare any expense, they are ruthless and there is no pretense of respecting international law. Think the Crusades or the British Empire.

We are the 2nd largest country in the world. Lots of places soldiers can hide.
Ontario, Quebec, and BC are covered in forests. So are the maritimes.
Its also cold as hell in the winter time.

It would be another Vietnam for the Americans, but thats assuming Canadians have the will to fight.
I wouldnt be surprised if most Canadians just accept the invasion and become part of the US
Again, Vietnam was also not a colonization effort, nor was it next door to the USA. You haven't got a clue what you're talking about.

Semantics. After 9/11 they had carte Blanche, congressional approval and nation hungry for blood. They had no stomach for everything you said above.

You think the US population would have the guts to try to take Canada? For TRUMP? Half the nation would consider fighting FOR US.

Its a non issue. A Pyrric victory at best.

Like Israel? They couldn't colonize a brothel without the constant stream of US aid. The Crusaders and British spent their own blood and treasure.

Lmao! Calling that semantics shows you have no concept of what you're talking about. After 9/11 the US overthrew the Taliban in two weeks. The next 20 years were for a "nation building" project not colonization - it was for the benefit of the Afghans more than the American people. The hope was that a Democratic Afghanistan would align it with the US and not promote terrorism, but it was a fools errand as Afghans are not interested in fighting for their own Democracy.

Had the US been interested in colonizing Afghanistan, the carnage would have been incalculably higher to the Afghan people than what it ended up being. Again, there would be no pretense of respecting international law. I don't think you understand what that means. Compare Afghanistan to the Crusades, read some history, then talk.

No, I don't. I literally made this argument against you.

And...they won't take us economically either. Or culturally.

But I think you would welcome an actual invasion, as the Quisling you are.
They've already taken us economically and culturally lmao. Everything we buy or watch is American. They are overwhelmingly our largest trade partner upon whom we are dependent both economically and for national security.

Stay triggered :ROFLMAO:
