I actually found him funny. I listened to several interviews with him where he talked about his private life which seemed non-existent. Never had any desire to marry or have children. Seems like a pretty empty life.

I saw him on Leno one time and thought he was legitimately good. It's prop comedy, but in fairness to him he is THE prop comedy guy. Kinda like Weird Al...doing something weird but at least he's the best at it.

Everyone knows Carrot Top. People come to see him. Most comedians are performing for free in front of 5 people. The guy has had success. I hope he can figure it out.

When he started, I thought he was funnier because his act was so different. But when I saw some TV performances years after he was established, I thought he was mediocre (boring) at best. Sad to hear he tried suicide but hopefully he gets the help he needs to recover.

I don't really know anything about Carrot Top outside of that one Conan clip where Norm MacDonald was making fun of his movie but I do feel for him, from some of the comments I read here he was going through some shit and that's always tough

Because the motive for Carrot Top is speculated to be loneliness from not getting married, I remember learning about Christine Chubbuck’s suicide. Morbid curiosity got me hooked on watching the two sundance films on her.

I don’t condemn her scarring kids who might have been watching that broadcast, as the internet nowadays is far worse with porn and gore circulating everywhere
